Friends

Tuesday was a match. It was the very last match for the 13 week winter indoor league. I sucked it up bad. I did absolutely terrible. I got last place, and I don't remember the last time I finished last. I am not sure what happened. I think I may have killed some brain cells earlier that day trying to fit a whole weeks worth of homework into a short few hour block. I had an enjoyable time though with my friends and team mates. We got new sponsors on our jerseys. Look how many people support us!

Wednesday evening I met some ladies at the range just to target shoot and have fun. I shot pretty dang well. I had great grouping and these are where all my bullets hit. I was pretty impressed. I don't know why I couldn't have done that for the match. But, like someone told me, I just had an off day. I did have a lot of fun shooting with new friends. I love meeting new friends through the shooting community.

My very first best friend growing up in Rhode Island was Melissa. We went to church together. We were so close and did so many things together. We were silly little girls who did weird odd things, but we had such a good friendship. I always looked up to her and her family. Her husband is working on becoming a Podiatrist and is currently doing some stuff at the University of Utah. Since it is only 3 hours away from me, and I love going to Utah to shop and eat, we decided to meet up in Salt Lake at the mall and spend the day together. She has the cutest 13 month old baby. I could love him to pieces. Melissa kept calling me "AUNTy Alyssa" notice the emphasis on AUNT...its not ANT like people out west call. I loved and missed hearing the word AUNT and not ant. It is such a neat experience to grow up with your best friend, and then seeing them be a mother. She is such a good mother and so loving. As children you never think about being adults and what its going to be like. Her sweet boy looks exactly like her and it was like see my old best friend when we were kids again. We had such an enjoyable time chatting, eating, shopping, and reminiscing. I cant wait to do it again.
Isn't Utah a beautiful place?

For my impressive meal of the week I made Thai chicken Tacos. They sounded good and looked good but I am not sure I am a big fan of the peanut butter in them. But Chris did like them. They looked so pretty though.
I have a scratch ticket problem. here is the proof. I love going into the gas station to get my fix of Diet Mountain Dew and getting a lotto ticket. Its a thrill for me. (Like shooting isn't?) Weird. But as I was cleaning out my car I found all of these. Obviously these are just the non-winners. There are plenty more where that came from that were winners. Please send me to gambling addicts anonymous. Or don't, that's ok too.

This was my latest Bunco prize. So cute and so funny, right? Do you get it? Dance parties are totally acceptable in my kitchen now.

Easter and Not Having Friends at Church

I had the privilege of teaching the Easter lesson this Sunday. I taught on the Savoir's last week on earth. I hid Easter eggs all over the room with scpritures on Christ inside them. The girls loved the Easter egg hunt because their parents say they are too old for egg hunts.  Sunday's are hard sometimes. I caught my self crying during sacrament today. well, because I have no friends. About a year ago our Ward was dissolved. I had a lot of friends at church, some who have become my best friends. My good friend Jenni who lives a block away and was really my only friend in the ward, moved across town yesterday. Another family I am friends with is moving as well. Church is the hardest place to make friends. I feel like because I don't have kids, and I'm not a newly wed, I don't fit in with any of the groups. The people my age have a million kids, and the couples without kids are kids themselves and just got married like last week, and no one has really wanted to be my ...

Valentines Day

Valentines day is a very special day for us. Nine years ago we went on our first date. Nine years ago I was doing some not so good things with my life. I drank a lot, did drugs, and smoked cigarettes. Not the ideal thing for a Mormon girl to be doing. I did not have much support and just hung out with people who did the same things as me. I knew I wanted to changed and be better but I didn't know how. I prayed one night the Lord would send me someone who would help me with my drinking and smoking because I couldn't do it alone. One day in January I went to church,  at the singles ward, pretty hung over from the night before. But hey, at least I was at church! I remember seeing this boy from a distance and something struck me. You know love at first sight? Thats kind of what happened, except it wasn't exactly love; there was just something about him that I needed in my life. He saw me sitting alone in Sunday school and he asked to sit next to me. I looked around the empty...

Christmas

My friends think they know me or something.... Amy made a shirt that says "Trophy Receptionist" in GOLD, and Ginger gave me socks that said " You're Not The Boss of Me" It's like they think I act like a princess, but I don't ;). I was pretty excited for my socks and shirt My lady lumps make it hard to read my shirt!  Since it was the week before Christmas we really didn't have a lot of patients. Amy and I made one of our famous music videos, I am going to try to post it right here but don't know if it will work.  I went to Sam's Club with my sister one day and hung out with my super cute nephews. I want to squeeze and kiss them all the time! They are the most kissable boys ever! Well, So is Chris! The little one is just chillin like a gangsta.  With my Christmas bonus I bought myself an Alex and Ani bracelet. These are super popular in Rhode Island and they have a store in Salt Lake City too. They were start...
