Roots Tech, Valentine's and new guns!

Last weekend was a huge family history conference in Salt Lake City called RootsTech. I have heard of it for many years but since it is usually in February I never wanted to go because of the snow. This year Chris's cousin Cody lives in Utah so we planned to stay with him, that way if it snowed I could back out and not worry about the hotel fees. It didn't snow but it did rain, a lot but I survived the drive and didn't die. RootsTech was AMAZING! The conference is four days long but we only went down for one day. Next year I would like to go the whole time. Buddy from Cake Boss was there to talk about family. He talked about the American Dream, his grandparents coming over from Italy and his family run bakery. Buddy is one of the nicest coolest guys you will ever meet. So down to earth and so kind and helpful. I loved hearing him speak! I learned some pretty neat things about DNA. DNA testing is big in family history right now. Your DNA can tell you so much about who you are. Next month Ancestry.com will be able to tell you EXACTLY where you are from, aside from just the country they tell you now, you will be able to know what part of that country you are from and when your ancestors lived there, so neat!

First off, no Utah road trip is complete without a nice warm fresh Krispy Kream. Seriously the best thing I've put in my mouth. Ever.

Valentine's Day was also this week. It was our TEN YEAR anniversary from our first date! Can you believe it? It is still hard to believe that it was ten years ago. Chris made the day very special. He tried to reenact our first date. First, he brought me a ring pop because he gave me one on our first date. We then went to a fancy restaurant, we didn't do that on our first date though. After dinner Chris took us to the bowling alley then said "Oh, its league night, there are not any lanes open" and then we left. We were supposed to go bowling on our first date but, like I just said it was league night so we couldn't. We then went to Cold Stone like we did ten years ago, then we went to the indoor soccer complex to watch a random soccer game for a few minuets because since it was league night on our first date Chris took us to watch his cousin's soccer game. It was all so cute and I loved it. I am so grateful I have him. Brad Paisley sings a song called " And I thought I loved you then" It is so true for us, we thought we were so in love all those years ago, but it just gets stronger and stronger every year. Happy ten years Christopher.

Trying to be ultra sexy for Valentines Day... but we all know that I'm just a goober.

This week it was also this lady's birthday
Super sexy. Am I right? I know she has a drug and a drinking problem but that's what makes me love her so much. Ginger and I wanted to make her feel special on her special day so we wrapped her office up in wrapping paper. The funny thing is, we wrapped it up in Christmas wrapping paper because I had a lot of it. Amy enjoyed her prank and Ginger and I thought it was hilarious. Ginger is having a big birthday this year and I am excited for the things we have in store for her ;)

That evening we went to out friends the Jagielski's house. Chris and Stan are pretty good friends and text each other all day long about guns and late into the evening about guns. This whole dinner set up was a trick. On the way to their house Chris stopped at a gun shop. He went to the counter to say he was here to pick up a gun for Alyssa Brayton! I was in shock! Last week Chris got himself a new gun and I have been wanting a new one for competitions for a while now. Him and Stan both decided I needed a new gun too and they thought a CZ would be best because it was heavier so I could handle the recoil better. We were going to the Jagielski's house so Stan could hook us both up with holsters ad extra magazines so we could compete on Friday because Stan owns million CZ's. So the whole thing was a trick and I was so excited. The boys then went to reload some ammo and Savannah and I watched a movie. It was midnight by the time they were done!  I was grateful I didn't have to work the next day but the boys did. It was a fun night though and it was nice to relax and watch a movie and not worry about homework.
Are you wondering what dinner at the Jagielski's looks like?

I ran into an old friend a while ago at the grocery store and we decided to have lunch some time. Melissa and I went to Kneaders to catch up this week. It was so good to see her! we used to live in the same neighborhood but she moved to a different one and I just haven't seen her in a while. We had a good time and it was so nice to catch up.

My grandpa Arden is still in the hospital. It has been two weeks and it is not looking well. What they thought were blood clots is actually cancer. He has cancer everywhere in his body. He has decided to do chemotherapy but the doctor does not give him a high percentage of living. My grandpa wants to fight it because he had throat cancer years ago and the doctor gave him a 10% chance to live and he beat it. It is very sad that he is so sick because I feel like I don't even know him. About fifteen years ago my mom was looking for her real dad and found him in a teeny tiny town in Idaho. I met him for the first time when  I was bout 12 or 13. After I graduated high school my parents decided to move to Idaho so we could be with him. It has only been ten years and I feel like it has not been long enough. I am very sad but I know that it will be ok. I have been going to the hospital as often as I can and he always has visitors there, he is very loved. I have an aunt that flew in from Texas, my uncle from West Yellowstone is here and my uncle from Rhode Island is coming out in a couple weeks. Pray for my family it is rough on everyone to be loosing someone you love.

Friday night Chris and I shot in a match. It was super muddy outside so it made for some crappy shooting. I liked my new gun but I was pissed about my scores but Stan committed the three of us to 15 minuets a day of dry fire practice and then the magic will happen and I'll be better.

This week was also my little sister Tayla's birthday. We went to my parents house for some cheesecake and to celebrate her birthday.

I'll leave you with some miscellaneous pictures

Look at her tongue! So cute

All my loves

you're welcome

Easter and Not Having Friends at Church

I had the privilege of teaching the Easter lesson this Sunday. I taught on the Savoir's last week on earth. I hid Easter eggs all over the room with scpritures on Christ inside them. The girls loved the Easter egg hunt because their parents say they are too old for egg hunts.  Sunday's are hard sometimes. I caught my self crying during sacrament today. well, because I have no friends. About a year ago our Ward was dissolved. I had a lot of friends at church, some who have become my best friends. My good friend Jenni who lives a block away and was really my only friend in the ward, moved across town yesterday. Another family I am friends with is moving as well. Church is the hardest place to make friends. I feel like because I don't have kids, and I'm not a newly wed, I don't fit in with any of the groups. The people my age have a million kids, and the couples without kids are kids themselves and just got married like last week, and no one has really wanted to be my

2016

I have sat and thought a lot about what I am going to say in this post. So much has happened this year, its been rough but it also has been a blessing. What doesn't kill us makes us stronger, right? I learned a lot this year. First of all the biggest thing I learned that I definitely paid for was listening to bad feelings. I learned what true friendship was, and saw the ones who cared and saw the ones who didn't. I learned about priorities and what really is important in life. I learned of death and that death is not the end. I learned patience. Maybe I didn't learn patience but I tolerated patience. I learned and always knew that no matter what happens in life that you and your spouse are all that matters. Lets start off with January. Chris was working at the juvenile detention center 45 minuets away from our house. This was a wonderful job opportunity that we both felt so good about. It started to become rough. He was gone all the time and we never saw each other. He

I like older men.

This weekend was Christopher's birthday!! My main man is 33 now, I'm still holding on to my mid twenties like my life is depending on it.  We went for a short get a way to the big city, Salt Lake City. Left the dogs with the grand parents and off we went. After I doused myself in essential oils I was calm enough to sit as a passenger in the car. I think I made my self too sick with anxiety and worry. Tears were shed for no reason in the middle of a resturant and hanging over the toilet Happened. It's either my anxiety or these fertility drugs I was taking. But I have my big girl panties on and can handle this!  The first thing we did was hit up Cripsy Cream. It's like heaven in your mouth. Lunch was at Roadizo Grill. We took our selves shopping and back to the hotel for rest.  The next morning we found a random Ward to attend to take the sacrament, stopped to take a look at the Brigham City Temple, and got back on the road. Like I said, this was a super fast trip.  When
